Title: Show me your sportster tank mounts
Post by Joe C on 01/24/12 at 16:33:59

I have an idea of how I want to mount this peanut tank but I'm not sure of the best way to do it.  I'm looking to see how you guys have done it.  Any pics would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

On this one ,for the front mount I welded a connector nut on top of the backbone.A connector nut is a nut about 2" long, find them at any hardware store. For the rear mount I cut the tab off the original tank and welded it to the Sporty tank.Bolts right in the stock location.

On this one,the tank has the rubber mounts that are hidden. If you look on the backbone you can see the tab I welded on for the front mount. If you look off the little crossmember I welded a tab with a nut on for the rear mount.
