Title: Out of bike shows to watch..
Post by built2last66 on 01/17/12 at 15:30:58

I've seen all I care to see of American Chopper (4 seasons in and I can't stand it anymore)

All of Biker Build-Off
All of Full Throttle Saloon
All of Build or Bust
All the Ganglands with MCs
Can't find any Southern Choppers episodes
Can't find much West Coast Choppers shows...

I think I've covered it all, any suggestions? My attention span is too short now a days for Movies.. so I wanna stick to TV shows..

I like Pawn Stars & Antiques Roadshow, American Pickers,
I still like Rockford..heck, I dig about any Whodunnit. I even like Murder she Wrote.

Anybody know where or if,the tv show renegade(with Lorenzo Lamas)is available?
There's always looking at Katey Segal in Sons Of Anarchy. ;)

FWIW I couldn't stand A/C after 4 episodes. ;D

I forgot about SOA, I've seen every season of that as well.

I wish I coulda stopped watching American Chopper after 4 episodes, I just had to see how terrible it could get...

I have to admit to being equally curious. It was fun a few times, then the script started getting obvious. Then, I watched to see the bikes, in spite of them. Finally, the bikes became so formulaic I couldnt stomach it,

Its a soap opera with motorcycle content.
My stepmom was out of the country for a year. She was back for a whole 2 days, watching the soaps. I heard her say " Its like I never left. Its all the same now as it was when I left. Im all caught up on every one of them!"...
says a lot about soaps.

The build off between Paul Jr, Paul Sr, and Jesse James was horrible, the Pauls bike's couldn't drive to 711 for a cup of coffee... Paul Sr didn't even make a motorcycle lol, Paul Jr just takes other "styles" of airplanes or something and makes it into a bike... if you've ever watched Biker Build-off those guys have to drive at least 1,200 on their bikes to a show to win...

American Chopper is like Jerry Springer.. you watch it just to see how bad it can actually get... aha

Might be out of your age bracket, but I enjoyed "Wild Hogs"
+1 on "Fastest Indian".
I watched a couple of build shows and found them to be inane at best, with mostly stupid bikes.

Choppertown, Brittown and Hogtown Bobber are faaaaaaaaaar from your typical "inane" TV build show, but are definitely the real "backyard" deal ... I HIGHLY recommend those!! The music in Brittown is fricken' awesome and the Bikes ... oh my the Bikes!

Have not seen the Cafe Racer series m'self, but friends who have say it's cool too with some real tasty backyard Bikes as well!

Snippets from all of those DVDs/Shows can be seen on You Tube if ya care to check 'em out ...

JOG, On Any Sunday was the movie of the 70s for riders. Bruce Brown tried to show different disciplines of riding as well as some of the fans. Malcom Smith is now in his 70s and has a dealership. I didn't even know Trials riding existed before that movie. A few years later I had my first Kawasaki three cylinder two stroke. That movie just made me want a bike more than I had before. Good memories. As for Paul and Jr, who lives like that? I don't care for shows that have every other word bleeped out. My wife bought me a Paul Jr bike cover at WalMart. I didn't tell her I couldn't stand the guy. I just painted over the logo and started using it.  ;D Fastest Indian was good.

The only part of "Any Sunday" I really remember is a "Kodak Moment" of Malcolm Smith running thru a muddy section with the widest grin on his face. Others were determined, focused & looked like they were in a battle. Smith looked like a young boy playing in a mudpuddle.

I agree with Perry 100% about Harbortown and Choppertown.  Awesome. Maybe check out some more of the independent stuff?  Not TV shows really, but some good stuff.  Syndicated shows at 1 hour or less are rare.  Google some of these;

Wall of Death
Dice Magazine's 6 Over
The Salt Ghost: Return of the Nitro Express
Cafe Society
El Diablo Run: A Mexican Motorcycle Adventure
Two Wheel Terrors 1-3
Free to wander
