Title: National cycle hand deflectors
Post by Mario Verasso on 12/23/11 at 17:29:35

National cycle doesn't make brackets for their hand deflectors for a LS650. So I made my own, what do you think? P.S.Sorry my camera phone got scratches on the lens. I used an old tire Iron that I found laying around.

Looks like nice protection from giant bugs, get them chromed!

I have been told to get them chromed by 2 other people today. Just need something to keep the winter wind off of my hands. I have to ride it from Allen TX to Miami Fl. in the next few days.  The deflectors cost $12.00 each plus shipping.

Krylon, flat or whatever,, Id modify mirror stems to mount the deflectors & still have mirrors, long enough bolt to put 2 nuts on & weld the mirror stem on it.

I was gonna suggest flat black first, but then I realized I didn't know the color scheme of his bike..

It’s humid with scattered rain here today in South Florida. Be careful, the “snowbirds" are in town and on the move!

I am not using the stock mirrors anymore. I have the adjustable convex mirror on the master cyl. in the first picture.  Thanks for the weather update in Fl. Yes it is a long ride It is 949.15 miles — Time: 14:41 hrs. to lake city Fl. then another 171.99 miles — Time: 2:39 hrs to Tampa FL.

I vote you make it an iron butt ride.

Not going to make it a hard tail. I'm going to put a small windshield on it, that goes between the hand deflectors. Then in the rear i'm going to put a sport bike swing arm on it with a wide tire. Round aluminum fenders front an rear with an aluminum gas tank. Then polish them up. 21 inch front tire (3 spoke invader rim) & a Busa rear rim.
