Is there a solvent that is good for cleaning copper electrical contacts?

There are two main kinds- dry and lubricating. The dry is mainly for connections, and the lubricated is for sliding controls like potentiometers, and also switches. There are also contact enhancers which clean and coat the contacts to prevent oxidization.
Any electronics parts store will have all three.

in the trade we called it goose grease.
its just a carosion inhibitor great on battery term also
get some white vinegar 5% outa the kitchen, soak your corroded copper in it
may take a couple of apps even over night but it works....
dry, then coat with "no lox" goose grease

on battery terminals when acid is present..
can coat your corroded copper conducter in vinegar then dip in baking soda then itll foam and fizzle..
that mix makes a good drain opener also..

corrision inhibiter is at auto stores, electrical section of the home improvement/hardware store..also call anti oxident
conductors need to bee clean first..
a good spray on for contacts is made by crc...

Be sure to NOT let any baking soda get inside your battery when cleaning terminals. I agree it works great with this one warning.
