The wax still seemed to attract dirt and get slow/gummy in cold weather. Now I use a graphite based lube (currently dri-slide) and I like it. The cable action is very consistent. Nothing wrong with grease or wax, it's just that once you start, you have to stay on top of the lubin's. |

I spray them down with brake clean or some such thing to get all the old oil and any dirt/debris that may have gotten in and use the baggy trick to squeeze 80/90 gear oil through the sleeve and down the cable then let it sit and drip overnight. |
