Title: Replacing Air Mixture Screw? Post by Fish on 10/18/11 at 07:19:49 The previous owner made my philips head air mixture screw look like an hourglass head. I can still turn it in and out for now. But once I replace my exhaust and rejett I'm going to be tuning the carb and messing with the air screw. I certainly don't want to reach a point where I can't move the screw any longer. Will I just keep turning it counter clockwise until it comes out? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v98/MadProfessor/Sammy/AirScrew.jpg EDIT: I just answered part of my own question by taking 1 minute to look on Ron Ayers. Part number 13269-37400 http://www.ronayers.com/ProductDetails/N/687/SKU/187410 |
Title: Re: Replacing Air Mixture Screw? Post by verslagen1 on 10/18/11 at 07:51:47 that screw is slotted, not phillips. still ugly. |

Derp. Yeah, I meant flathead, not phillips. I definitely know the difference but sometimes end up calling a slotted a phillips. |

Title: Re: Replacing Air Mixture Screw? Post by Fish on 10/18/11 at 09:05:49 True, I suppose I could take some material out of the middle and make it one straight slot again. I'd just need to use a thicker slotted screwdriver than normal, not a problem there. Good idea Justin. Now I need a tiny file to do this though. |
Title: Re: Replacing Air Mixture Screw? Post by justin_o_guy2 on 10/18/11 at 09:19:41 If theres sufficient material left out at the ends of the Hourglass you can drive it back into the slot & make the slot thinner again. Doesnt take much torque to turn it,,so, its not a big deal really, |
