I have a 2006 and the Clymer wiring diagram for that year doesn't match what is on the bike. My bike seems closer to what the book has for a 1996-2003, and then only for some parts of the harness.

I'm replacing the key switch with a hidden toggle and nothing in this book matches the colors and number of wires I'm actually seeing coming from the key switch and the connector from the main harness. It's all stock and not tampered with by another owner. Weird.

Are there better sources for a wiring diagram that matches my bike?

the ssm
shows the 06 as the same as the 05 diagram
for on at switch dpdt
R & O
Gr & Br
other side of the 1st harness connector colors change
R = R/B
O = O
Gr = O
Br = Br

O & O tye together near the harness connector & appear to be a common..

as i was comparing the 05 & 96 diagrams noticed the 96 shows l,&r
turn sig indicators the 05 only one ..my 06 has 2

for 96 on @ sw dpdt

R & O
Gr & Br

harness connector color change

other three same a sw colors O & gr are tyed togther at the handlel bar switches

so both years ig sw wire the same

if you want parking lite another sw spst R & Br

I have heard that there's a lot of mistakes in the Clymers manual... I think the corrections are posted somewhere on this site, maybe in the tech section?
