Title: Brake Piston
Post by Starlifter on 09/26/11 at 14:57:51

Yesterday I replaced the front brake pads on the S40. The brake piston was really really stiff (had to use wide gap pliers). Put everything back together and everything seems to work fine. The question; is the piston suppose to be this stiff? Should I have lubrecated it with something? I feel a little uneasy about this.

When spreading the pads (forcing the piston back in) it'll take a lot of force.
The pads shouldn't spring back to the fully open position every time you release the brakes.

Okay, thanks.
