Title: Sturgis anyone?
Post by built2last66 on 09/22/11 at 19:02:34

Who here would go or has been to Sturgis bike rally on their Savage? I especially wanna hear from justin_o_guy, Serowbot, and WD.

I think I might feel a bit inferior, have some smack talked to me, and get into it with a gang.. lol  :D

I avoid crowds generally,, Sturgis would never be on my destination list,
Id be more likely to go see the Grand Canyon or Yosemite, Id check out the Smithsonian,, if its not too crazy, Id go.

Id LIke to go some nice places,, just too many people,.,

Would you take off your muffler so everyone could hear your bike?

For the rubber laying portion of the even you'd have to get someone to hold the back of your bike up to lay rubber...

Tincanman and I have been several times. People are very friendly while you are there. We have never had a single problem. besides there are people there on scooters and all kinds of things, people are there to have a good time. Most are just curious to see what you have.

I've been invited to join my
friends for next year.
I am not sure if work schedule
will allow it or not yet.
I do hope to make it as would
love to see it all as well as take
in the other sites.
My friends never had any issues
with other people. I will certainly
let you all know if I do make the trip..:) kim

Went in 1993. Rode a 1938 Indian Chief. Didn't stay long, back then it was still a party for yuppies on shiny new Softails. Hauled a 1928 Indian Scout hillclimber and wasn't even allowed to make an exhibition run (was told that the old bikes couldn't show up the sponsored late model stuff or the rally would lose too much money).

Haven't been back.

I prefer 21 and older rallies/events where you know in advance that the booze is flowing and the clothes are dropping...
