Title: How big a Bore? Post by Smokestack on 09/17/11 at 18:33:30 Calling all Wickers and Hot-Rods; were I to punch out to a bigger piston, how big can I go without getting into paper-thin wall country? I like the idea of upping the jug size, but I don't wanna smash my piston throught the cylinder either. Any words of advice? |

Title: Re: How big a Bore? Post by Smokestack on 09/17/11 at 20:22:40 97mm it is, then. Thanks fellas! What would that translate to in CC? My current plan for the winter, outside of some pretty routine stuff (like the plug/cap leak and speedo rattle) is to punch and coat the bore, port and polish the head, possibly a valve job, get a 98mm Mikuni with a UFO and Dial-a-Jet, and finally grab some type of free-flowing exhaust (this is where I'm not settled on where I'm going; my exhaust knowledge is limited at best). I was gonna try and get a Lancer Cam and Cable kit, but I don't know if he's still in that game... I've been toying with a one-off header as well, but don't know if it's really needed or not. Lookin' forward to it, I gotta say! Not enough that I want winter here quicker, but enough to start saving up my nickels and dimes. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, I'd love to hear 'em! |
