I have always hated those big bikes like Goldwings and the HD version. If you need such a big bike with so much crap, I say drive a car. I will probably change my tune as I age though.

Those Gold Wing style bikes are made for loooooong tours... not just driving to work. Being on the road with no stops for 5 or so hours is probably a breeze on a Gold Wing. ;)

Zackly. I don't like them for anything other than long tours on interstates. They sure do that job well, though.

One of the things each of us must do before we die is a 1,000 miles in one day on a motorcycle. While in the USAF, I'd use one of my bikes for TDY travel. I did 1,100 miles in one day getting from a conference at Offutt AFB (Omaha) to Robins AFB (Warner Robins, GA). What bike did I choose? GW, of course. I have easily been able to keep my vow to never, ever, do that again. The last 10 hours were miserable.

My brother-in-law drove from L.A. to London Ont stopping only for gas...and bennies..... on a Goldwing. :o
