i have a flat black Bell helmet . It's in good shape but scratched up. Is it a good idea to try to paint it( the same color), and any tips?

I have read that painting a helmet without using special paint can weaken the shell. I would do some research- maybe talk to a custom painter guy to see what to use.

Especially Red Flame stickers. They're the fastest.

I painted the helmet ,hopefully it won't weaken it . Thanks for your input.
