Title: Fitting Savage sissy bar onto S40

Sissy bar was standard on the Savage. Not standard on the S40. Anyone have any experience fitting a Savage sissy bar onto an S40?

I have put a 2001 sissy bar on my '07.There are some differences.
First: the rails are 1/4" narrower, so you need bolts 1/4" shorter. Second: the rails sit out a bit further from the fender so I used door edge molding to make up the difference.
On mine I have the Suzuki saddle bag guards which just happen to require bolts that are 1/4" longer, so I used the original bolts and only had to grind down two of the six bolts.
Also the upholstery on the backrest pad does not have any pattern on it so it does not perfectly match the seat. And tape the fender or you will scratch it for sure.
