Title: To bleed hole or not to bleed hole?
Post by mmosel on 08/24/11 at 17:00:28

So, looking for pilot jets, I see that there are 55 jets with and without bleed holes.

What is the deal here? I'm sure the bleed holes must make a big difference. I'm just unsure which one to get.

nichecycle.com sells both kinds. They say the no-holes one is OEM style. I'm leaning towards this one, but I see a lot of people on here are using the bleed holes version.

Supposed to smooth transition, or something... very little difference...

Pick the one you think is prettiest... ;D...

;)..

I couldnt decide either, so I got one with bleedholes & plugged half of them.

What did you plug them with?

I purchased both in the 55. I also purchased a stock replacement, which is a 52.5.

I ordered a 152.5 and 155 Main Jet.

I ordered from nichecycle.com.

Only 19 buck for all of them, and another 3 or so to ship.

Only problem now is the week long wait. I might forget how to put it all back together by then. :D

Just in case someone new comes along and is curious about model number:

MAIN JET - (RS, HS) #155 Item:N100.604/155
PILOT JET- (OEM APPS) #55 Item:N151.067/55
PILOT JET - BLEED TYPE #55 Item:BS30/96/55

How you arrange parts on the bench can help you go back together.

Yeah that's good advice. I did bag and tag all the nuts, bolts etc. I figure I will get it back together, just not sure if every hose or tube will be in the same visual order. But as long as it works.

I'm really looking forward to trying out the new jets and seeing how they affect the performance.
