Title: Twisted Forks?
Post by drums1 on 08/24/11 at 04:33:06

When I hit the big rock, the front wheel took the brunt of the shock and, of course, the underside of motor. I have noticed that while the handlebars seem straight when riding, the front blinkers seem off center, to the right. Front tire seems straight, handlebars and tree seem straight, but blinkers look off center. Parallel with each other, and seemingly parallel with the front of tree, yet off to right when riding. My question is, WTF? If forks did get twisted some, is there a way to untwist them, or is something likely bent?  (oh, please don't tell me I need a new front fork assembly...) I haven't noticed any binding, suspension wise, and no oil leaking from forks.

If the distnce from each end of the bars to center of front tire is even, it aint twisted.

If I remember correctly, there's an alignment pin between the clamp and the lower tree.  Loosen and relocate.

Kinda says you forks weren't all the way in the top tree.
I'd loosen it all up and make sure everything was straight and bottomed out.
