Title: Ryca threaded rod problems
Post by wombat on 08/22/11 at 18:10:01

Usually connecting rods on rear sets are threaded in opposite directions at each end so their length can be adjusted. However, in my kit from Ryca the ends of the shift connector, rear brake, and decompression rods all thread the same way (righty tighty). Plus, the threads are a little off and won’t accept the specified 6 mm nuts and end fittings.
Has anyone else encountered this? Am I doing something wrong? Or has Ryca screwed up?
Dave

I had some trouble with the threads too.  I had to clean them up with taps and dies.   It felt like they were being crossthreaded or something.

The worst situation was the ignition switch panel.  The powder coating munged up the threads something awful.  That stuff is tough.  I spent one whole evening getting those panels ready to install.
