I read on here a couple of years back about someone using suzuki cast wheels on a savage, i bought a set and would like to find the thread.....anyone know what it is?  Thanks

Found it..Thanks.  I have 550 wheels from an 83 drum rear brake.  Looks to be an intereresting project with chain drive.

great, but a 550?  doesn't that have a 17" wheel?
You'll have to put a low profile tire on.
the drive and brake hub should slip right in.
Keep the OD to a little over 25" if you can.

Nope its a 16 inch wheel 130-90-16 tire.  Front is a 19 inch.

Cool, that's what I got.
The Dunlop D401 rear tire has very thick tread.   ;)
Most likely, it was actually a GS450.
To fit the front disk, you need to cut the OD down to match the savage and fiddle with the spacers.

rear direct swap is 83-86 gs550. The 450 is too narrow. By the way...anyone need a rear gs450 cast wheel? I got one thats doing nothing.
