Title: K&N Air Filters and sealing them... Post by built2last66 on 08/13/11 at 13:19:21 Just got my K&N Air Filter and K&N Sealing Grease... is there anyway to tell if you have it sealed correctly? I slathered the lip of it, installed it, fired it up and drove it to the store and back. Nothing unusual happened. The instructions don't really explain much about sealing it. |

Title: Re: K&N Air Filters and sealing them... Post by arteacher on 08/14/11 at 10:13:17 Don't need much grease at all- just a very light coat. If you use too much it can get sucked into the carb where it may (or may not) cause trouble. |

Post by Oldfeller on 08/14/11 at 13:11:36 Naw, actually they are hoping for a reserve of oil to wick out of the grease into their cotton filter fabric to keep the oil/dirt attraction action going a little longer .... Is the grease red by any chance? If so you need to Ask Bill About It. |
