Title: exhaust issue?
Post by swardlow on 08/01/11 at 11:12:41

I just got my 95 running and am seeing some blueing on the lower portion of the exhaust. Any ideas what is causing this?

trying to post a pic but can't seem to get the file size small enough

If I remember right it's a chemical reaction of the metal with oxygen. Chrome pipes will blue over time due to excessive heat caused by flow restriction and hot exhaust from running lean. It can be polished off but unless you fixed what caused it in the first place it will come back.

try again using photobucket (i use this) or some other site. It's gotta have the img  /img with brackets for it to show properly

Yuck!....   That looks very restricted... I think the muffler is toast, probably rotted out and a piece is blocking up in there...

I have also seen some white smoke from the exhaust. would a blockage cause that as well?

Nope...  that's either,.... water in your gas,... you're burning diesel,... or you're burning oil...

I did put some seafoam in the gas. it was after this that I noticed the smoke.
