1 did you have the tank off? if so check the big connector under the tank.
2. Kickstand up if in gear?
3 Bar kill switch bumped to off or part way between during the work?
good luck, Max

Title: Electrical Issue -- SOLVED, but still a question.

This is my 3rd Savage/S40 and I sometimes make this rookie mistake !!!!
But, the 'kickstand down' behavior is different on my '07 than it is on my '02

On my '07, when you press the ignition in gear with the kickstand down ALL the lights go OFF and the bike won't start.

On my '02, when you press the ignition in gear with the kickstand down nothing happens except the bike won't start.

Can anyone confirm that the behavior on my '07 is correct?

They are going to behave differently cause late model bikes have a head light cut off relay that turns off the lights during start to conserve battery.  I believe '05s and later have the relay.
