Title: what am i missing Post by jasonwm on 07/30/11 at 09:23:03 i am tearing down the bike today. 1986. im stuck. i got the back two bolts off of the tank, but what all needs to be done for me to get it off. it seems to be catching somewhere. thanks for any help. this is the first time i am ever taking a bike apart. |

Title: Re: what am i missing Post by Biddie on 07/30/11 at 09:25:37 Don't pull straight up. Pull towards the back of the bike and up. The tank bumpers, don't know the real name, slide into curved channels on the underside of the tank. |

You did disconnect the fuel and vacuum lines from it,... right?... :-?... Then,.. don't pull it all the way off... there are two wire connections that you must disconnect under there... Ohhh!... and the speedo cable cable,.. disconnect it at the engine, and don't lose the rubber o-ring gasket... |
