Title: Spoke nut size
Post by adberns on 07/27/11 at 06:49:41

Hi, all -

I'm getting a spoke torque wrench for another bike, and wanted to know if anybody knew what head size the spokes were.  From my Googles of here, I find 6mm or 6.3mm.  At $12 a piece, I'd like to get the heads right :-)

Thanks!

First time I hear 6.3 exists. I've done lots of lacing with a metric 6mm sharp.

Yep.  For spokes, they come in all sorts of small-increment sizes.  6.0, 6.3, etc.  So if a 6mm normal wrench fits, it may still be 6.3.  But if it's snug, it may be 6.0.

Straight 6 was nice and snug... But you never know with cheap chinese wrenches. This is a regular open end wrench I'm talking about, nothing special.
