Title: You people are a bad influence. Post by Boofer on 07/26/11 at 18:09:56 I bought my purty little Savage March of 2009. I was a straight-laced, by-the-book, pure road burner. I even read the owner's manual. Then I found this site. It started kinda innocent at first. I just shaved the letters off the side covers and painted them back black. Then I noticed the seat was hard, so I put memory foam in it arguing to myself no one would know. Someone had crash bars so guess what? Then the muffler fell apart. I had to actually go talk to Harley folks behind the garage in the weeds where cash was exchanged and I ran home with a shiny muffler. After that, I was bold and installed a Raptor petcock. I even told my Suzuki guy what it was for. No shame any more. I've done a few more little odds and ends, but tomorrow I'm going to buy a 140/90-15 tire and I know it's not stock. Oh, and today while pricing tires, I bought a doo rag. I'm not a doo rag person....or I wasn't before. Thanks. :) |

Sometimes what is hidden deep down, but that which was really there all along, just needed the right influences to rise to its rightful prominence. In other words, you are most welcome. ;) |

Post by groupus on 07/28/11 at 10:18:35 I know what you mean boofer. i bought a nice and shiny (nearly) new savage and was too content. i crashed it and started getting it back to factory condition, but while looking for parts here, the bike started morphing: losing parts, getting louder, flat black got involved. now its a completely different animal and i love it :D i was so naive and innocent, now i'm a biker pro that all my friends come to for advice. thanks everybody. |
