Post by kidsavage on 07/25/11 at 20:38:11

i have posted on here before about gettin my savage started....i got all the controls working (blinkers, lights, taillight) but when i try to start it, all it does is click...no turning over, nothing...the bike barely has any miles n i just wanna get it up n running in the least costly way

is your battery charged?

1 click is telling me the button works, but not enough voltage to click the starter relay in.

but it also could be stuck.  a sharp rap on the fender below the ig key may set it free.  usually they stick on.

Put it in 5th & work the rear wheel,, make that piston move.
Make sure the battery is HOT,

YOu can also prove the start circuit works by pulling the plug,,makes spinning the engine a lot easier.. a tablespoon of oil in there wouldnt hurt. Make sure to blow any dirt from down in the recess the plug sits in before ya pull ot.

If ya pulled the left side cover off I'd check the washer on the thrust gear.
