Title: oil leak
Post by firstsavage41 on 07/22/11 at 21:40:39

Hey all,

95 savage..

Just developed an oil leak at the clutch rod coming out of the case cover. Looks like theres an o-ring that failed..My assumption is the cover has to come off in order to replace that o-ring.. am I right about this????

thanks for the help....

mileage at just over 15K, I've only had it for a couple of months. I'm guessin the chain tensioner is probably due..maybe a different length clutch rod as well.  All seems to be operating good at the moment, no wierd noises, clutch seems good.

I just jetted the carb and it's runnin awesome...use it as my daily driver..
I'm waitin on funds to get the tensioner etc...cuz i'm sure it's due.. just wonderin if there was somethin i could do about this leak before i tore it down.  oh well... just for participation purposes, here's what's been done to it so far...

1. sportster exhaust
2. wrapped header
3. raptor petcock
4. jetted carb
5. shorty turn signals.

love the way this thing rides..

thanks again for the help  :)

Welcome, and yes, its a great little bike. Fun to ride and fun to work on. Especially for the wrench newbie like me.

8-)
