Title: Drinkin' n' thinkin' n' moddin' some holes...
Post by Serowbot on 07/18/11 at 15:16:02

Me and my bike was hangin' out in my shop, watchin' paint dry,... and a thought occurred to me...
"What can I do to you with this drill?"...
"Did you know, there's already a hole going halfway through the button on the end of your levers?"...
"Halfway is just not good enough"...

PS,... the paint was dryin' on my headlamp bucket... I also lightly sanded the chrome bezel to make it look like brushed aluminum...

Rainy today... what you gonna' do?... :-?...

If it rained today I would take a lawn chair out into the yard and sit in the rain.

That's a sick looking bike! LOVE the mirrors! Is the visibility real good, or is the arms in the way?
The seat looks nice as well, just not very comfortable from here.

Thanks....The mirrors work great, alot less vibration than mounting them on the drag bars and great field of vision. As for the seat Im still tryin out a couple different pan shapes.

Now you're gonna have to replace those rubber baby bumper pedals with mean ol' rat traps.   8-)

Thats the problem with this world!  Not enough holes! Just think how much better a place this world  would be if each and everyone on this planet took just one moment today to drill or dig a hole!

Still gotta cut those two horns. But what will hold the stoplight? So many things to cut, so little time...  :D

Dasch, I've always liked the lines of your bike. How did you do the fender so it doesn't bottom out? I like the idea of having a close hugging fender but don't wanna do struts.

Looks like the fender is mounted to the swingarm rather than the frame.

Title: Re: Drinkin' n' thinkin' n' moddin' some holes...
Post by dasch on 07/20/11 at 05:55:51

Right. It is mounted to the swingarm.

Title: Re: Drinkin' n' thinkin' n' moddin' some holes...
Post by Arnold on 07/20/11 at 07:58:31

Only attached to the swing arm by the one connector on each side?

Title: Re: Drinkin' n' thinkin' n' moddin' some holes...
Post by CalisOsin on 07/20/11 at 08:13:24

If you look very closely I think there is a bolt going through the crossmember of the swingarm. I'm sure that's a 3rd mounting point.

Title: Re: Drinkin' n' thinkin' n' moddin' some holes...
Post by Arnold on 07/20/11 at 08:25:28

You know you're right, I can see a bolt on top of it. Same way BCB has theirs.

Post by Serowbot on 07/20/11 at 10:42:53

Pretty nice Dasch,...  but it needs some holes...
... and maybe a seat... :-?...

Title: Re: Drinkin' n' thinkin' n' moddin' some holes...
Post by dasch on 07/20/11 at 11:38:59

Hahahaha. You know what - it does!

An yes, theres a hand made L-shaped bracket connecting crossmember and the fender, and then the U mount from one side to the other. If you get the same idea - make the L shaped bracket going all the way to the rear end of the fender, lengthwise. That will make it sturdier. That's what I'm going to do next. After the seat, of course  ;D

I'd have to see if I can get my battery to hang like that once riding season is over.

Three spot welds, and I'm sitting on it for a whole season now. Amazing.

Do you have to stand up when you ride that thing?

Title: Re: Drinkin' n' thinkin' n' moddin' some holes...

:D No, I will quote myself :

"Three spot welds ,and I'm sitting on it for a whole season now. Amazing"

Ever set on a wooden bench? That's the feeling.

Hahahaha, believe me, I'm not happy with the current setup either. Wooden bench is cool for beer fest, not for going over potholes. Have no ispiration/time lately, that's all.
