I have searched high and low for options to lower my 98 savage. I want to lower it and 1-1/2" to 2." I could always go with the struts but I am looking for a spring option or a kit, if at all possible. I have seen the instructions on how to effectively cut the springs but I do not have the access to tools without spending money on them to only use them once. Is there anyone out there that knows where I can get a pre-made set of lowering springs?

You're talking about the rear, right?...

Tools are cheaper than springs... What do you need? ... a hacksaw, a vise grip, and and a wrench?...

Well that's what harbor freight is for! Bought an angle grinder for $7.99 thinking I only needed it once, and I've used it about 15 times now. I just wouldn't trust any of their cutting blades/discs

I have looked as well my self lately and haven't found any options. Lowering springs for other bikes seem to range in price from $300-$750. So I think struts or the tools are the way to go.

When you shorten the springs, you take away some usable compression stroke. It's like riding with the shocks half compressed (or more). You'll bottom out more often. Before you go that route, you might check eBay for shocks that are already shorter from the factory (with 14mm eyelets at both ends).
