Title: Would whitewalls look good & what about tire size Post by BB on 07/09/11 at 10:54:51 Need to replace tires that are too old. Have not seen any pics with whitewalls, anyone got a pic of a Savage with whitewalls??? Also, what about putting a 140/90 on the rear instead of the normal 140/80? Appreciate your opinions, love this forum. Thanks!! BB |

This is Ranger tire paint. Do not recommend. Pealed after first drive thru a puddle. Looks good though. Tire is a 160/80 on 4 inch rim. |

Title: Re: Would whitewalls look good & what about tire s Post by WD on 07/11/11 at 14:50:14 If you can find a set of Maxxis Classics, grab them, no longer in production. Satin white Rustoleum brush on supposedly works to make fake whitewalls. Believe it when I see it... |
Title: Re: Would whitewalls look good & what about ti Post by ROB CYCLE on 07/11/11 at 15:29:09 150/90-15 well fit without grinding but is tight.but it won't fit stock fender. good luck finding a maxxis. sold out everywhere.before i hardtail my bike or did anything to the swingarm i rode on a maxxis 150/90-15 with no problems |
Title: Re: Would whitewalls look good & what about tire s Post by WD on 07/12/11 at 02:29:20 I still can't believe Maxxis/ChengShin went off road only for bike tires. And expanded into the jacked up 4x4 market. |
Title: Re: Would whitewalls look good & what about tire s Post by justin_o_guy2 on 07/12/11 at 04:03:34 I used Maxiss a couple of times, one lasted & had excellent grip, the second, wore out in no time & had a hair less grip.. I liked the tires, but the difference in lifespan turned me off,, BUT, I didnt know about the Born On date & how to decode it back then,, I may have bought an Old Tire, Ill never know. I guess now it wont matter.. |

After a while one of them broke while on the highway and polished the inside of the wheel well and blackened the side of the car. Wouldn't trust them on a bike. And they don't offer a 15" anyway. |
