Title: Front axle bolt
Post by Tiefighterpilot on 07/08/11 at 18:17:33

Can anyone tell me where the front axle bolt is located?  I need to install a fork brace...

Thanks.

Do you mean the pinch bolt? If You need to remove the axle you have to remove the pinch bolt first, and it's on the bottom right fork. I just disassembled my whole front end so I can help, just no sure if I'm reading your question correctly

Yeah, the whole front axle is a bolt. Once the pinch bolt is loose, you crank it out like any other bolt. Only the left fork is threaded. The right one has a smooth hole. When you put it back together, you tighten the bolt until it bottoms out, then tighten the pinch bolt. Keep track of which spacer goes on which side.
