Title: Any Old timers out there (and hi to everyone!)
Post by Susan on 07/04/11 at 15:19:38

Okay so I've been gone a looong time. Last post was in '07 I think. For those of you who are new since '07 I used to moderate this board -- hello to everyone I don't know. Hope to get to know you soon.

Sooo... any old timers still out there and posting? How's everyone been?

As for me, life has been eventful since I was last here but mostly all good. Biggest news and reason I've not posted in a while -- I'm in a doctoral program training to be a psychologist. Second career sorta thing. And no I won't analyze stuff people post lol. Too much work!  Also, I've been to Tanzania a couple of times since I was last here. Amazing place. Still have the Savage and the Ducati although truth be told I spend more and more time on the Savage.

Hope to become a more regular visitor/contributor again. It has been way too long...

Hi Susan.  Don't recall seeing you as a mod.  So I'm not that old.  Kinda a new oldtimer.   ;D

Welcome back congratulations on your second.

Yeah it has been a reallly long time. I was the only moderator the site had for a while. Stepped down in Jan '06 (http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1136472774/).

Thanks for the welcome back!  :D

Hello there.  I also considered going into psychology and majored in it for a while.

You'll analyze the psychology of posts whether you want to or not, and we'll keep you in plenty of material!  :D

Good luck with the studies and new career, we will be curious to hear about it.   :)

welcomeback,  savage rob and i took over the reigns when you left, then he dropped out leaving me to moderate for several years, i've had a tough year with some back problems so a couple others stepped up to help moderate, it's been a wild ride but a good one.
stick around regale us with some stories and pic.

Welcome back!

I guess I'm not such an old-timer as I thought I was, too!

It says you're in Eastern Pennsylvania -- any thought of stopping by the BMW rally in Bloomsburg later this month?

Great to hear from you but sorry to hear its been a bad year. Glad to see the site still thriving and its wonderful to see so many mods on board!

Hmm, I don't have any good recent ride reports but maybe I'll do a post on my trips to Tanzania sometime.

Thanks for checking. I'm starting to see some familiar faces as I continue to poke around. Also starting to recognize some wonderful new faces.  :)

Thank you and I seem to have that effect on people!  ;D

Regarding the rally, my location is complicated -- sometimes in Eastern PA and sometimes in Western PA. Also, I recently had a high-speed, unfriendly, close-up encounter with a deer (fortunately I was in the cage and not on the Savage). Broke some bits in my back but recovering well. Hoping to be back in the saddle soon.

Hello Susan, nice to see another Lady on the Forum.

I'm the Italian in the lot, I guess the only one.

Joined sometime in summer'06, bought my 1988 Savage through eBay in September'06 (never again will I buy through eBay without a thorough check first !!!) and I'm still alive and kicking !

It's nice to read you have a Duke, too, I was about to buy one, then "chickened out" (an ST4s race bagger, much too track tuned for my taste) and opted for a BMW... hopping frmo the Savage to the Beemer and back to the Savage is like living a Monty Python movie first hand, both ways !

Anyway, we'd love to see pics of you in Tanzania !

8-) Regards, Maurizio

(PS if you think my typing is dyslexic, no, it's just I type too fast for my fnigers to peek trcka ! ) ;D

Hi Susan, check out the "Tall Table" never-ending thread in the Cafe.

It's fascinating stuff, lots of nuts, crackpots, and assorted miscreants there. (I've been trying to educate them forever). It's an analysts paradise.
