Title: Gas Cap Malfunction Post by Classic650 on 06/29/11 at 19:06:02 Hi Everyone, Does anyone have any experience with removing a gas cap that is stuck. The locking mechanism isn't functioning. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Title: Re: Gas Cap Malfunction Post by Classic650 on 06/30/11 at 16:51:34 The bike tech tried to remove it. He said it's the latch which is catching & basically I need a new cap. That'll be the route I'll take if Justin's suggestion doesn't work. |

Title: Re: Gas Cap Malfunction Post by Max_Morley on 06/30/11 at 18:37:46 The one on my 96 seems to have been affected by the fuel additives as it is difficult to remove even as the lock works fine, I have to wiggle it out of the tank. Need to scrape the plastic down some I guess. Have been driving the sidecar rig lately so it hasn't been an issue. Max |
