Title: Looked at helmets
Post by Boofer on 06/18/11 at 20:47:05

Looked at FF helmets. Had three brands to choose from. All tried to tear up my glasses putting on first or last. Tried HCI, Joe Rocket, and Fulmer--currently using Fulmer AF655 3/4 face. I'll keep looking, but couldn't find one to use. They fit fine, but couldn't get glasses on after putting helmet on or helmet on after putting glasses on first. With degenerative disk disease the weight is an issue, also. And the flip front ones wouldn't work right, either. The search continues.  :-?

Try adjusting the earpiece on the glasses,... I straighten out the hookie part on my shades...

That's why military FG58 Flight sunglasses have straight earpieces...

Step up a bit in quality. Try Shoei, Arai and Nolan. Although they will a bit heavier than the Chinese and Korean helmets.

Even without degenerative joint/disc disease I wouldn't wear a full face. Wear my 3/4 under protest in decent weather. Don't like the weight, don't like the noise reduction. With a bad back and bad low frequency hearing I prefer to take my chances with a 1/2 shell or no lid.

As of yet, I have not found a helmet that I can place
on my head with my glasses on. Well a ff or modular
helmet that is.
I have both and each one I have to place the helmet on
first then my glasses. On the modular I can lift the chin
bar and then take off my glasses.
I had thought I would be able to place the helmet on
and take off without taking off the glasses. Well again
so far no go with the styles I have.
Good luck with your search...:) kim

I can put my HJC on or take it off while wearing my glasses, but then, my glasses fit so well Ive totaled a motorcycle & not had a helmet on & got up still wearin them. I can actually tuck my nose behind my glasses & they stay on, but I order longer than normal temple pieces & I fit them myself. Takes a fw days of tinkerin with a new pair to get them just sitting there & not creating pressures other than weight.

Pretty much,, I can lay it flat across my face.. I didnt know it could do that, till I was in the eighth grade. A guy showed me how to do it,, rather suddenly, with his fist,, shoulda seen his eyes when I didnt go down or start bleedin,,

I took his patented, fight endin Nose Breakin shot. & kept on comin.,
