check for fuses like everyone has said.   usually when more than one thing is affected, its a fuse, OR you have really fried something.

FWIW, and in no way am I trying to be a wise-guy,

IF you EVER mess with wiring, a good practice is to DISCONNECT both leads to the battery......

Not saying you didn't, cause you can still mess stuff up.

Just reiterating to myself and everyone else, the 6-7 min it takes to disconnect the batter on anything has easily paid for itself in duration AND frustration for me later on down the road.

Hope its just a fuse, but even if its not,

Have a great, blessed weekend.

Farmer

But,.......why both leads.......? Its even easier to just undo 1.

I am just too precautionary probably Routy, you are absolutely correct, one will do the job.

Believe it or not, I have had the ONE disconnected wire move back over into position and touch the post.  No harm done really, just some arcing.  My mechanic buddy saw it, and really gave me the once over.   He said that it could have damaged the theft control system, deployed the airbag, etc.......maybe he was just giving me grief, who knows?   He's been known to do that..... ::)

BUT--he has seen 1000 X the scenarios that I have.......when he tells me to do it, or watch for it, I do.

If you are just gonna disconnect one, make sure to tie it up with a ziptie, so its "memory" can't move it back over to the post when you are occupied, or using a breaking bar and a pipe, etc.....

Good to meet you and God bless,

Farmer

Start with the ground side, that way, if youre working & your wrench slaps into something that IS ground, you wont arc anything.
