Title: Carb Jets... where to get them
Post by toolfan43 on 06/11/11 at 22:45:03

Hello everyone, ive been reading about rejetting and all the work and mods that can be done to the carb. So far, I have removed my brass plug and tuned the carb a little richer, also might try the spacer mod if neccesary. I am planning on switching my exhaust muffler with a pretty open can from a stock 2010 Victory Jackpot as well as putting a cone filter off the back of the carb, doing away with the stock airbox. My question is... Where do you find carb jets for this carb??? I have a 97 savage with the regular BS40SS carb running stock jets and cannot find a single lead to buying jets.... :-[ maybe im just looking in the wrong places but haven't been able to come up with any solid leads.

1. can someone post links or recommendations on where to get jets
2. possible links on cone filters
3. any feedback or recomendations on jet sizes that MIGHT be suitable for my application
4. Is Re-jetting even necessary??? What would happen if i didnt? could i tweak the mixture enough with the spacer mod and mixture screw??? :-?  (noob question, but felt needed to be asked)

I appreciate all replies and hope to be on my way to better performance

I know what you mean!  I've spent many hours trying to track down jets within driving distance, and found that the dealer a few towns over from me has a varied assortment of jets for about $3 a piece.  I live in MA, but right now I'm in NJ for work, so I'm going to check out a shop Tuesday to see if they have a better selection.
If you modify the air flow via air intake or exhaust, you're going to need to rejet; if you don't the engine won't be running efficiently.
Good luck man!

Any good bike shop will have them, and possibly advice on using them.
