Title: belt tension
Post by joscswny on 06/08/11 at 12:13:25

I saw it somewhere but I can't find it again.  How do I tell if my belt is tensioned properly.  I do not have the factory tool kit nor the little tension measuring doohickie? :-[

twist it with your fingers...if it rotates 90 degrees you're good

Get the rear wheel aligned to the swingarm. Set the tension so that you can grab the belt & twist it 90* 1/2 way between the pulleys. You shuldnt need to be a weight lifter,

Mine squeaks anyway, so I use canning wax on the belt.
