Title: (*#$@% Carb screws
Post by ksthumper on 05/21/11 at 11:22:24

So I managed to bugger up one of the carb screws on the top and the other three are very well stuck so I didn't want to try those till i get the other extracted. I'm headed to the store soon and wanted to know if anyone knows the exact size/thread for those in an allen head screw?

Those screws are made from Japanese goblin iron  ;D

Been there, done that, that sucked  ;)

Youll need M4 x 8 to replace the screws in the top !

Use a pair of vise grips, grab the sides of the head and twist.

M4x8 perfect. Thank you both  :) Vers I was gonna try that as I haven't snapped the heads off yet. I'll give them a good soakin in creeper oil before wailing on them.

Mmmmm, according to my gauge, they're M5x10 on top and M5x16 on the bottom.

But if you're going to replace them, try something other than Philips head.

Phillip head are ok if you replace with american screws,Lot quicker to get off than allen bolts.

I haven't noticed the screws to be so bad for cheap.
But the trick is to use a good driver, and don't let it slip even once. If it even starts to slip, you're done,..... you mite as well just go get another beer,....cuz you're gonna need that one and more !
