1. How do you test to see if it is good. Bike wont start,getting gas,new plug, Spark looks weak (yellow)

2.What years igniter can be used on my 1986 ?

3. Anyone have one for sale,How much ? Thanks

check you wire and coil first. If you need a cdi year 86-88 will work. DONT BUY A NEW ONE. From suzuki they cost $300-400. I found a used one on ebay for $70 and have had no issues at all. Pinwall Cycle on ebay has a lot of savage stuff usually and usually at good prices. Might be a bit of a waiting game. I usually see half a dozen cdi's on ebay at any given time but most of them are for '95 and newer models.

A little pricier than i got mine for but it still beats $300. Pinwall also has several coils the savage for about $20 and shipping if that turns out to be the issue.

Also make sure the battery is FULLY CHARGED - a slightly weak battery will not start these bikes very often.

+1. In my youthful exuberance i sometimes forget to try the most simple, least expensive option first.
