Title: Lowering my bike.
Post by mr. s on 05/15/11 at 16:07:23

What is the best way to lower my bike a bit in the back?
I found some 4" and 5" shocks that look like I could just replace the stock ones. Would this have the effect of lowering, while still keeping a soft tail?
Has anyone out there done this?

Thanks for answering all my questions!! I am so glad I found this forum. :D

That would leave you sitting on your tire...

Stock is 10"...  9" would be a minimum... I think about 7" is hardtail only...

Mine is 12.5"...  no brag, just fact... ;D...

Take the shocks off and let the fender sit on the tire.
measure center to center, I would add at least an inch for clearance.
this will be your full compressed length.
When shopping for shocks, look up the travel and add it to the full compressed length for the free length of the shock.
