Title: Rectifier / regulator move
Post by 2whlthrpy on 05/15/11 at 11:49:04

Does anyone know whether I will have to extend the wires to the regulator in order to move it to the tool box compartment, or will they reach when I separate them from the others? I am putting on a savage single seat.  I hate the boxy one long seat look.

Just throw it into the air box, no rewiring needed. ;)

Ok, done. It is now in the airbox.  SnakeLady, how did you mount it? Or just loose? Any concern about obstruction of air flow? I really like the way it looks. Now I have to replace the brake light with a cateye under the fender to finish the job.   8-)

Thanks.

I just let it hang in there.  I just did the project you're doing over winter, bought aftermarket sigs, and taillight, moved the regulator, had the rear fender filled and repainted, plus put the cone filter and jardine exhaust on and rejetted the carb.  Here's a couple pics of how mine turned out:

Very nice. That is the exact look I am going for. If you dont mind, which cateye light/plate did you use (linky?) and are you happy with it? I am going for ease of install, wiring is not my strong suit. I have a dyna muffler to install as soon as I get the jet kit from Lancer that is on its way.

If you aren't going to run a cone filter, pull the plastic airbox door off and throw it out. Mine has been like that since sometime in 99.
