Cruising the pics for something out of the ordinary and came across this interesting bike...wonder how it handles?

Yeah, you're right but I give the person that did that a lotta credit. Lots of work went in to building that thing. Never seen a leaf spring suspension on the front end of a bike before.

You've never seen the stock front end on a pre-47 Indian Scout, Chief, Four, or Powerplus? Leaf spring front ends on bikes came out in the 19teens...

They didn't look like that show bike though.

Kinda a Rube Goldberg approach, I like it.. needs a fender.

Looks well engineered. It wouldnt ever be found on a race track, but it otta handle well enough for just riding around.

When I was a kid (15) as a M/C apprentice mechanic, we had a bike in for repair called ABC associated british cycle, it had leaf springing for and aft, quite progresive for the time ,the bike was about a 1923.
I did ride it after it was fixed,I missed second gear and the over reving of the engine caused the push rods to go flying off,I did find them all but not the valve spring retainers.the one in the picture is one just like it.

Same suspension as a Power Plus V-twin. And to think HD didn't "invent" the swingarm until the mid-50s... ::)

Wonder how many Softail owners realize hidden shock triangulated swingarms were on Vincents when HD was still rigid frame only...

Yeah, but I love to dig on the "HD experts", you know, buy a brand new garbage barge (Geezer Glide, er, Electroglide) and think that HD invented motorcycles and everything about them.

Indian had electric start option same year Cadillac made it standard (1916). HD got electric start in 1965 (and it still isn't worth 2 cents, even with Toyota/Mazda starters).

I like real Harleys (pre-49 Big Twins) that aren't treated like fine art. I like real riders who treat their bikes as basic transportation. My friend Drifter Doug even does all his shopping, in winter snow no less, on his 99 1500 Drifter.

Triumph invented the oil leak, I've had a few Bonnies. ;)

My '37 Enfield had a stamped metal cover on the primary drive with a foam rubber gasket. I could NOT get it to stop leaking. Topping up the oil in the primary drive was part of the starting routine. ;D ;D
