Title: trailer receiver carriers
Post by stratman on 04/23/11 at 11:55:41

I was wondering if anyone has used one of these for the savage.  If so, do they affect handling of the carrying vehicle much.  I've got a double cab 2005 tundra with 4wd and towing package.  My max tongue weight is 675#.  thanks, stratman

I got one, use it a few times.
because of the 35° rake on the savage it leans alot in turns.
don't turn sharp

I would be better to have one that pivots, keeping the savage straight with it's self.

strat,
is it a carrier you are talkin about or a towing device??

i have a carrier(mc rack) for thumperclone(tc weighs 170 full of fluids)that goes into my 2" reciever..i can also tow my pop up camper at the same time..
i had to get a anti sway device that locks the
sq post of the hitch into the reciever..its a 2 sized collar that set screws and lok nuts to both the reciever and the arm..

long sweepin turns were murder at highway speeds when tc tilted to the outside of the curve jerkin the trailer with it...
