so, what is the easiest way to remove the carburator?

I look at my bike and I just don't know where to start

but i was told i was running to rich...or so I think. I know my exhaust has a leak, but the jardine slip I put on got blue right after the first time on the freeway. I know I should prolly put a bigger main jet and pilot jet, and fix the idle screw, But I just don't know where to start.

You were told you were running too rich, so you're going to put a bigger main jet in it ? Maybe I misread.
Did I miss the part about whats wrong w/ the bike ? Just curious why the carb has to come off.

Jet change can be done with the carb on the bike.

Nope, lean, blue tells me you are lean. popping? backfiring? exhaust leak and lean. for the exhaust leaks, use a candle (lit) the flame with tell you where the leak is.

You start right here, ask questions, read up, then do the work. The link above is a good one. But you can skip some of the work by dropping the bowl on the carb rather than take the carb off. Can be just as hard though cause the battery box can be pretty tight to the carb. But if you can drop the bowl, loosen the clamps to the rubber ducks and twist the carb to one side a little, so it's easier to see what you're doing.

The easiest way I have found to remove the carb is to remove the battery box first, then you have plenty of room to finagle the carb out of the bike. The battery box is only held in by four 10mm bolts.
