How do you like this seat?Is it made well? Do you have a side view of the seat to see how much of a dip it has?If not what solo seat would you recomend?

Most of us just use the front seat from the older savage models, when the rider seat and pillion seat were separate.  This way you don't have to fabricate mounts, they will bolt right on.  Just be aware that you'll have to move the rectifier which is mounted right under the stock pillion seat.  Here's a pic of my bike, to give you an idea of what the older savage seats look like:http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/the_snake_ladys_pics/100_1044.jpg
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

P.S.  Sorry if I dumbed this down too much for you, I have no idea how much of a wrench head u are.  LOL. ;)

Yup, savage seats will mount to the S40s with NO mods required!  I recommend posting a WTB ad in the Marketplace section of this website, you'd be suprised how many people have old seats laying around that they will sell for a couple $s.  I don't unfortunatly or I would just give it to ya.  Good luck with your project!!!

My "Bob" project started yesterday with changing out the bars. I had my stock seat modified by Spencer's and am determined to use it through the project since it is now quite comfortable. Before I had the mod done, I would have given it away it made my tail bone hurt so.

Raising the front of the stock seat will really give you a more comfortable ride. It allows you to slide your butt back onto the fat part of the seat which give more leg room. Try raising it by at least one inch, it is well worth it.
