will the decomp controller is bad will it not let the starter work?
i hit the starter switch and i here a click in the decomp controller box but no starter work.
i shook the controller box and there is a rattling inside this cant be good huh?
i jumped the starter solenoid and the bile started.

Sounds like a weak battery,.. or poor ground connection from the negative battery terminal.

The loud click is the decomp working,... that is normal.

fully charged new battery
starter soleniod then maybe?

I don't even have my decomp any more... so I doubt thats the problem!

meaning that you shorted the contacts?
or jumped it with another battery?

starter solenoid is bad then... had that problem many times myself

being that you pushed the button and heard a click, starter button should be ok, but wouldn't hurt to clean.

otherwise, you have a bad starter relay.
sometime these stick. push the button, give the fender a sharp rap in the general vicinity of the relay. might knock it free.
