Title: K Rifle finished.

It's all together now ,nothing left to do but a couple of touch ups here and there.it was a fun build.
And as for "Birchwood Casey" products I would swear by them, best stuff I ever used, and they are all made in the U.S.A. A pleasant suprise. two pics to prove it.

Pretty cool, Mick.  No coonskin cap for me.  For my possible bag, I got a genuine leather aigner pocketbook from a yard sale.  They practically gave it to me.  I am not afriad of my femine side. ;)

Mick I thought a proper Kentucky long rifle was sized so that the barrel stopped at your lips when the butt plate was on the ground between your feet. This was to enhance "Speed loading".

You build a pretty gun sir!

That's a fine lookin' smokepole you've got there! 8-)
Now you just need the accoutrements to go with it and you'll be in business. :D

Sweet job there Mick, I used a Birchwood Casey refinishing kit on a 7.7 jap rifle 30 years ago and it has held up real well. Now just go out and let some smoke out of that there pole.

You built a nice firearm there Mick. Something to be proud of! My old neighbor built his black powder rifle and then started going to trappers' rendezvous to compete and rub elbows with other frontier period enthusiasts. You might find a lot who share your interest out there.

Actually SP it will be a gift for my son, I have his name under the but plate. he has had a rough year so far, perhaps the gun will cheer him up.

Mick, got an engraver or dremel tool? Lots of nice smooth brass that can take some real nice designs on them. Make it a lil more personal.
