Title: 09 S40 bike starts wobbling a 60mph Post by jde30 on 03/18/11 at 14:28:47 I took my bike to work today. when I hit 60 mph the bike vibrated and wobbled really bad. the tiers had the correct air pressure. just wondering what can be causing this. thanks |

Title: Re: 09 S40 bike starts wobbling a 60mph Post by greenmonster on 03/22/11 at 07:33:41 You didn't happen to have added a windshield to the bike did you? I adjusted mine one time and that gave me a wobble at about 60. |
Title: Re: 09 S40 bike starts wobbling a 60mph Post by Trippah on 03/22/11 at 19:40:48 Good thought greenmonster - I was wondering if he had adjusted the rear wheel or belt tightnedd incorrectly but that should show up quicker..while your windshield idea is probably more on target at 60+mph. |
Title: Re: 09 S40 bike starts wobbling a 60mph Post by Lawsonwelding on 03/22/11 at 21:46:58 I have the same problem with my 09 , it has 400 miles on it , i get to 70 mph and it feels like the bottom is slidin back and forth under me , im not sure if its normal but i dont like it and dont know if i like the bike anymore if it keeps it up and its just the way it is .... I know its a light bike but i wouldnt think it would be doing this i havent drivin that much at over 60 so im just not sure? any help would be nice , i am going to the dealership tommorow i might see if they will balance the tires for me to double check everything , no windsheild but i do have saddle bags i was thinkin i might take them off to see if it changes the problem |
Title: Re: 09 S40 bike starts wobbling a 60mph Post by verslagen1 on 03/22/11 at 22:27:21 Couldn't tell you if this is the problem or not, but some other bike has an issue with the swingarm bearings wearing out and making it loose. Might be worth checking. |
