Title: 'more horespower' & diminishing marginal retu Post by Pannonia on 03/08/11 at 15:14:44 I just read steps 1-9 around "more horsepower." Wow.[ http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1291516932 ]. As a newbie who has just spent $100 and a few hours on the mod here [ http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1299527044 ] was wondering if there is a 80/20 rule, e.g. what 20% of investment in time/money generates 80% of the results in 'more horsepower'? I love the idea of tinkering with the bike over time, and was wondering when the marginal returns start to fall off? As a bicyclist, I could tell you. As a new rider and brand new s40 owner, I have no clue. Thanks! |

Title: Re: 'more horespower' & diminishing marginal retu Post by justin_o_guy2 on 03/08/11 at 19:48:42 The rule of 80/20 applies almost everywhere. The easiest, cheapest, quickest return on investment of time & $$$ are, IMO, jetting & exhaust. You can get a noticeable increase in OOOMPH for $20.00 for a Dyna muffler & a few bucks for some jets. Then, if OldFeller is still happy with his air filter mod, you can follow his lead. But the first 2 are immediate & chap in terms of time and $ invested & yield the biggest returns for the investment. |
