I always thot stuff like that was supposed to be made up from scavenged junk, heated, hammered & bent to accomplish the job.

i think it looks best to be made with scrap stuff but is always good to have somewhere to start, and what would be best the shifter on the right side with the clutch still on the handlebar or the clutch on the shifter handle in one package on the left side??? anybody with experience let me know

If I were going to do it, which I wouldn't...   I'd mount the clutch lever on the shifter handle, on the left side of the bike...

or hook the clutch cable to the ex foot gear shifter. Jockey on the right, clutch with left foot... That sounds exotic!

Its called a jockey shift...unless you remove the front brakes-then its a suicide shift.

okay i just thought of this has anyone seen a shifter on the handle bars? like the throttle except it actuates the shifter, then the clutch would be on the left foot peg. sounds like something interesting to think about.

They make electronic handlebar shifters for handicapped riders...

Probably not what you want.  But you would have to electric to mount on the bars...

Shifting with your right hand means letting go of the throttle. Smooth shifting requires a bit of throttle control, which is hard if you just let the throttle snap shut when you let go to shift. That's why suicide clutched are set up with the shifter and foot clutch (or clutch lever on the shifter) on the left.

Id set it up like a car put he clutch pedal on the left and the brake and throttle both operated by foot on the right along with the shifter on the right.  Only use the back brake and take all the controls off the hanfle bars so its extra clean and the handle bars are only for steering.

Won't pass Fed regs on inspection (if the state inspectors are pricks) because of the 1975 mandate that motorcycles sold in the US (starting in 1975) must have left side shift/right side brake. only special constructions can get away with it if the state dogs get on ya...

And if you live in a nice rural place, a suicide (foot clutch, foot brake, hand shift) set would be very dangerous....you can't put your foot down unless you find neutral. The only other options are the hand clutch on the shifter, or disconnecting foot clutch like the early flatheads, knuckleheads and indians had. I rode a suicide set for a short time...fun at first, but really gets hairy if there is traffic. Got many warnings and tickets for blowing through red lights and stop signs, failure to yield right of way, improper lane changes....its hard in the city...My suicide was a 60 Triumph with a right side hand shift, internal throttle cables, cable adjusted magneto....real fun splitting lanes!

Wonder what the deal on those 3 wheel t-rex "bikes". They are setup pretty much like a 3 wheel car,  but i think are classified as bikes to get around safety rules.   But if they are bikes with car controls then they are violating other safety rules...

They are cars. You sit on a bike, you sit in a car.  If it has seat belts...its a car. Just like the old RUPP Centaur used to be...they were cars.
