Title: a stupid question...
Post by danthewrenchingman on 02/03/11 at 22:36:03

I need to fix up my carburetor, thanks to a lot of people on the forum i have most of the info i need.

one thing i dont know, and i feel bad for asking, but

Where do i get a new pilot jet and main jet?

I looked online, couldn't find anything, even searched the forum, and couldn't find anything.

So, if you know where to get them, i sure could use the help.

Try Ron Ayers online...
Lancer, on site, for a kit...
... or the dealer...

I'm with Serowbot, but I would just contact Lancer.  I got a set of jest from hims sometime ago, it seems they were cheaper and I got faster service.

I just found a local store that dealt parts, bikes, equipment etc... if they're suzuki they can order your parts for you. Free shipping too, so a new jet is only a few bucks. Just google "your town suzuki motorcycle parts" or something like that

Stock carb is a mikuni bs40.  The main jet is an N100.604 and stock is a #145 or #155 depending on year.  The pilot jet is a bs30/96 non bleed type the stock is a #47.5 or #52.5 depending on year.  They can be found on ebay for 5$ or less a piece shipped.

Alot of info on the carb can be found in this thread:

i have seen theat thread before, and I still don't understand why on the pilot screw it says preset at 3 turns out. I have never heard of any Savage/S40 having that screw 3 turns out from the factory. Mine still had the plug over it, and when I removed it, it was turned all the way in.
