Title: Fuel injection.
Post by james may on 02/02/11 at 06:21:56

Has anyone tried to fuel inject their savage?  I just found out suzuki has this little 250 single the TU250 with fuel injection.  It gets 82MPG!!! It's alittle under powered at 16hp.  The ninja 250 has almost 30hp, but it's a parallel twin and carburated(in the usa).  The royal enfield bullet 500 is closer with about 22hp and getting close to 80mpg on fuel injection.  I bet a fuel injected savage 650 would get alittle more hp and better fuel economy(than stock savage).  Plus if you add fuel injection it greatly increases reliablility and reduces maintenance.

That's probably the closest thing out there to what you're talking about. mx_rob had good success fuel injecting a DR650.  I am sure it can be done on a savage using many of the same components.
